In the Jamaican countryside the practice of home burials are prevalent. It is a common sight to see graves of at least four to five generations of people laying side by side. Sometimes the young beside the old. There are many factors to this some being tradition, economics, comfort etc. .What is fascinating is how the living commingles with the deceased. As the graves are usually found at the back or front of the homes. There are many different views on this practice but for me, some agree and some disagree. I find warmth in it.
